Hypnosis is a normal state, which everyone passes through at least twice a day. When we wake in the morning and when we drift off to sleep at night. A skilled hypnotherapist will induce this state by way of deep relaxation techniques. The sensation is similar to a daydream; you are not asleep, however, you are completely aware of your surroundings. Your eyes will be gently closed and you will feel as if you do not have a care in the world. During this state the hypnotherapist will relay appropriate suggestions to assist change in thinking or behaviour which will enable the client to see things from a different and more positive perspective. No one can make you do anything you do not want to do as you are in control at all times and can decide whether you want to make the changes or not. The experience of Hypnosis is usually a wonderful feeling of relaxation. Many people have reported an increased feeling of energy, confidence, determination and find it an extremely positive experience. Hypnosis works extremely well with young people to help them cope with the many changes they experience at this time. It can be extremely useful for them to learn Self Hypnosis to aid study and exam nerves.
